One of the most anticipated events in every beauty devotee’s year is undeniably a new, exciting beauty launch. Whether it’s a brand-new invented makeup tool to help simplify the process in achieving the ideal makeup look or a reliable, life-changing (or at least hair-changing) styling product. In 2016, Pat McGrath expanded her line of miracle products while Jen Atkin launched the OUAI series of advanced hair products. Here is what we are up against for 2017:
Fenty Beauty by Rihanna
Fenty Puma goes Fenty Beauty. Remember the holographic lipsticks models wore in Paris during the Fenty x Puma ss17 show? That exact lip product is predicted to be the debut product to hit the shelves no later than this fall. With Rihanna being the master of diversification when it comes to beauty looks, it is hard to tell what more to expect from her cosmetics line. However, there are a few beauty statements that keep on finding their way back to her, including vintage-red, vampy lips, rich-pigmented and vibrant eyeshadows (from pastel pink and metallic bronze hues to fiery shades of burgundy), hypnotizing smoky eyes, black berry-stained pout and razor-sharp, inky black eyeliner.
Donda Cosmetics by Kanye West
With Kanye being Kanye, juggling multiple things with only two hands seem to be natural for him. Which is why it comes as no surprise that he is intending to shake things up in the beauty realm. Donda, the name of his passed away mother, is said to be the name of the cosmetics brand and will not just be about makeup, but also include lotions, perfumes and other cosmetics. There are no clues on what the line will look like or represent, but with Kanye being a preacher of diversity the focus will most likely be on versatility with a hint of Kanye-extravagance.
Hair by Sam McKnight
Backstage at Michael Halpern during London Fashion Week, top models’ go-to hair stylist, Sam McKnight, debuted his first ever hair product, The Modern Hairspray. After years of development, the unique formula is an invisible multitasker which is set to create bouncy curls, straightened sleekness and add volume, all while having the most alluring scent and being totally brush-able, allowing you to create endless of looks throughout the day, according to McKnight. Cool Girl Hairspray, sister to Modern Hairspray, was later on debuted at Fendi during Milan Fashion Week, which features a “barely there” texture mist. The legendary hair stylist will debut each product one by one until the range of four is completed and can be found at Liberty’s in London by the end of April. And just like the name of his hair exhibition at Somerset House, the name of the line will be Hair by Sam McKnight.
With the words; “Coming soon from Pat McGrath Labs” under a boomerang video of Gigi Hadid wearing a mesmerizing, electric-blue eye shadow on McGrath’s official Instagram account, you know you’re in for a treat. Every time the makeup legend releases a product, it’s bound to be sold out instantly while breaking the internet. However, Pat McGrath chooses to be mysterious leaving us with no more clues on this divine, richly-pigmented nuance. Let the waiting game begin.
