Stardust, feathers and other delicate fabrics altered the beauty looks at the Spring/Summer 2017 Haute Couture Week in the cultivated Paris. Except for the fine embellishments and the precise application of it, the skin was unblemished and au naturel, and barely a swipe of color was placed on cheeks, lids or lips.
Subtle, almost invisible smoky eyes were worn by the models at Elsa Schiaparelli, and their hair was neatly pulled back in low plaits. Their heads were decorated with black headbands and the pretty hair styles were held together by black bows at the end of the braids. Another couture brand that put more effort in hair looks rather than makeup was Giambattista Valli, where a similar sleek and low ponytail was pulled back to enhance a fresh canvas with pale blushed cheeks and lips.
A fairy tale came true at Dior’s spectacular show that featured an enchanting forest labyrinth and extravagant designs complemented by star shaped glitter makeup. Some girls got more glitter on the apple of their cheeks, and some just had a tiny star placed in both corners of the eyes. Even a few selected models wore feather crowns. Peter Philips was the man behind these looks and he created the flawless skin with Dior Forever Cushion Foundation. He also added a healthy glow with touches of Dior Blush Rose Cherie 756 and swiped a layer of Dior Addict Lacquer Stick in 550 to the lips (a new formula to be released in March!)
Chanel’s lace and sequin dresses were highlighted with an equally elegant hairdo; damp, slick side-parted hair with not one single hair straw daring to stick out. And the fun part about this chic hair style is that it was wrapped all around the back of the head in a flat twist, attached with a large amount of bobby pins.
